First and foremost, I must thank Ms. Vandana Sehgal from Sweden. We happen to be in a WhatsApp book club group. She DMed me one day that she was looking for a reading partner for the book “Can’t Hurt Me’ by David Goggins. I quickly opened another tab on my laptop and searched for the reviews. The reviews were smashing. I agreed to be her reading partner. We decided to meet online every week and discuss a chapter. I bought this book on Kindle, and commenced my reading journey. A few days into it I got a message from Vandana that she was working on a project, and had to travel. Which meant she wouldn’t be able to be my reading partner. I was perplexed. To read or not to read. But I decided to read. The book was not great initially…it did not hook my interest. Yet I did not give up. I knew the best part was coming. And word by word, para by para, page by page, David takes you along on a journey of commitment, grit, determination, and unthinkable courage. I am glad that I stuck up to this book to the very last word feeling dazed and in awe of this rare breed of human being.
His commitment to achieving greatness by giving it all, his mental toughness, and his self-discipline is admirable. It is inspirational-phenomenal-motivational to millions around the world - myself included. Reading about David’s impressive elite U.S. Navy SEAL career gives a peek into the mental toughness and self-discipline one needs to imbibe. That paved the way for his record-breaking endurance events as an athlete. He is the ultimate gold standard of toughness, self-discipline, and endurance. All these attributes make him no less than a super-human.
One of the most common observations I noted is that every super-achiever has had a humble or troubled childhood. The adversaries forge the being into one of the hardest human beings that’s ever lived. Such human beings make the impossible possible and set a new standard for others. These strong-willed people redefine the possibilities, expectations, and abilities.
CAN’T HURT ME, is David Goggins’ smash hit memoir, that verifies the tremendous untapped ability we have. It also emphasizes the power of the mind. The mind knows no limitations unless you limit it. The quest for greatness is never-ending and limitless. The memoir is raw and real. I clenched my jaws and fists several times while reading about the pain and injuries he went through. And after every injury, he bounces back with more grit. By the end of the book, you want David to achieve the unattainable. His victory is yours. His journey is yours.

This powerful book is hard to read and not an easy-breezy read. It is like meditation, difficult in the beginning but it grows over you.
A must must read!!!
